In response to Albin Kurti’s decision to require Kosovo-Serbs to use the ‘RKS’ (Republic of Kosovo) car plate, seven Serb police officers serving in the Kosovo police force resigned from their positions in protest.
Experts anticipate more resignations in the coming days as Serbs in northern Kosovo resist Kurti’s measures.
In response to the resignations, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani accused the Serbian government of pressuring the Serb minority to reject Kosovo institutions. She stated, “Our investigations have confirmed that these members have faced threats, intimidation, and blackmail directly from Belgrade” and urged the European Union to take action against Serbian President Aleksander Vucic.
